Chainalysis, the blockchain-analysis firm whose tools law-enforcement agencies, tax authorities and crypto exchanges use to trace illicit funds, said in an Oct 30 notice that an external actor 'using offensive agentic techniques' gained unauthorized access to its systems and internal tools, which it described as similar to many other tech platforms in recent weeks. Customer user IDs, full names, email addresses and organization role labels were exposed; Chainalysis says it has no evidence so far of access to investigation content, clear-text passwords, MFA secrets or session tokens. It notified all customers, urged them to be 'hyper-vigilant', and said the Oct 29 Binance theft is unrelated. It has not named the attacker, given the date of the intrusion within October, said how many customers were affected or described the AI techniques used.
